Moving Into Storage: The Preservation Phase
When moving items into a Morton storage facility, our goal is long-term preservation. We specialize in "High-Density Packing" that protects your items from dust, moisture, and temperature shifts:
• The "Two-Inch Airflow" Rule: To prevent mold in the mountain climate, we never pack items flush against concrete walls. We leave a two-inch air gap around the perimeter. This allows air to circulate, preventing the "sweating" that occurs on concrete during Morton’s freezing winters and humid springs.
• Vertical Stacking & Weight Distribution: We utilize "Vertical-Tetris" stacking to save you money. By placing heavy, durable items like appliances at the base and using protective felt pads between layers, we can often fit a three-bedroom home into a smaller, more affordable unit.
• Moisture-Shield Wrapping: For items going into non-climate-controlled units, we utilize a specialized breathable wrap that prevents dust accumulation while allowing wood and fabric to "breathe," reducing the risk of dry rot or mildew.
Moving Out of Storage: The Rapid Transition
Moving out of storage is about efficiency and organization. We make sure your transition back into a residential space is seamless:
• Inventory-First Loading: We load based on your new home’s layout. Your "First-Night" essentials—beds, linens, and kitchen basics—are the last items loaded from the unit and the first ones off at your new house.
• Debris & Pallet Removal: If you used pallets or heavy-duty wrapping during your storage stay, we don’t leave the mess for you to deal with. Our team performs a full sweep of the unit and hauls away all used packing materials.
• Furniture Reassembly: Moving out of storage often means putting lives back together. Our crew carries a full toolkit to reassemble bed frames, dining tables, and desks that have been in pieces, so your new Morton home is functional by sunset.
